The moon changes your catch
Every cast, the game pulls your catch out of a bag of fish names. Each moon phase tosses extra tickets into that bag, so some fish show up more often. The moon follows the day of the season, and it's the same pattern every season.
Days 1-3 and 28
- Rare fish: +5 tickets each
Days 4-6
- Treasure chests: +3 tickets
- Small and regular fish come up Large
Days 7-9
- Legendary fish: +1 tickets each
- Rare fish: +1 tickets each
- Everyday fish: +1 tickets each
Days 10-14
- Legendary fish: +10 tickets each
- Rare fish: +4 tickets each
Days 15-17
- Legendary fish: +5 tickets each
- Rare fish: +2 tickets each
- Everyday fish: +2 tickets each
- Treasure chests: +2 tickets
Days 18-21
- Rare fish: +3 tickets each
- Small fish come up regular size
Days 22-25
- Rare fish: +3 tickets each
Days 26-27
- Everyday fish: +2 tickets each
Summer Day 1 in odd years, Winter Day 1 in even years, 10am to 2pm

- Legendary fish: +15 tickets each
- Rare fish: +20 tickets each
- Treasure chests: +10 tickets
Spring Day 15 in odd years, Fall Day 15 in even years, 9pm to 3am
- Legendary fish: +20 tickets each
- Rare fish: +10 tickets each
- Small and regular fish come up Large

A Solar Eclipse gives you any of these 8. The moon's "legendary" tickets go to all of them except Blobfish and Mimic Octopus.
Tip: Waxing Gibbous (days 10-14) is the best normal week for legendary fish. A Lunar Eclipse night is even better.
